all systems operational — open to opportunities

Baljot Singh

DevOps Engineer

I automate infrastructure, build CI/CD platforms, and make systems observable — on AWS, with GitOps at the core.

Portrait of Baljot Singh

I'm a DevOps Engineer at Cleaver-Brooks, where I build the platform other engineers ship on: pipeline-as-code tooling, GitOps workflows, and observability that catches problems in minutes instead of hours.

I hold a Computer Science degree from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee (2024), and I run a Kubernetes homelab with ArgoCD because I genuinely enjoy this stuff — GitOps at work, GitOps at home.

My sweet spot is taking a slow, manual process and turning it into an automated system: pipelines that took hours to create now take minutes; a data migration estimated at weeks shipped in a day.

DevOps Engineer

2025 — present

Cleaver-Brooks

  • Own CI/CD platform tooling — pipeline-as-code with AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy, and Terraform, cutting pipeline creation from hours to minutes.
  • Built GitOps workflows for Grafana dashboards and platform configuration: version-controlled, reviewable, and promotable from dev to prod.
  • Designed platform-wide observability on Grafana, CloudWatch, and InfluxDB, reducing time-to-first-notice for incidents to minutes.
  • Led the InfluxDB v2 → v3 migration of 300+ customer tenants and terabytes of live time-series data.

Pipeline as Code

A process that generates CI/CD pipelines from code, cutting creation time from hours to minutes. Pipelines live in Git, so they get the full GitOps treatment: rollbacks, review, and a single source of truth.

  • CodePipeline
  • CodeBuild
  • Terraform

Grafana GitOps

Custom-built solution on top of Grafana that stores dashboards as code. Pipelines promote dashboards from dev to prod — no more hand-edited, unreproducible dashboards.

  • Grafana
  • FastAPI
  • Nginx

Platform-Wide Observability

A single dashboard that shows the health of the entire platform at a glance, backed by CloudWatch canaries and InfluxDB. Cut incident time-to-first-notice down to minutes.

  • Grafana
  • CloudWatch
  • Canaries
  • InfluxDB
Home Assistant dashboard running in Baljot's homelab

HomeLab

A self-hosted Kubernetes cluster where everything deploys through ArgoCD — GitOps end to end. Runs Home Assistant for home automation plus a monitoring stack, because the best way to learn platform engineering is to be your own on-call.

  • Kubernetes
  • ArgoCD
  • Home Assistant
  • Grafana
